Mangaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai held a video conference here on Saturday September 4, with the Deputy Commissioners and District In-charge ministers of the State’s border districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu, Hassan, and Chamarajanagara to discuss the Covid pandemic situation.
During the meeting, Chief Minister directed the coastal Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner to increase testing and vaccination in urban and border areas.
He also urged the Deputy Commissioners and district in-charge ministers of the five border districts to be extremely cautious in the face of the Covid outbreak.
All five border district administrations have been urged to set up the vaccination drive to 35 per cent, with a special focus on ensuring 100 per cent vaccination in areas within 20 kilometres of the Kerala and Tamil Nadu borders.
Revenue Minister R. Ashok, Home Minister Araga Jnanedra, Kannada and Culture Minister V. Sunil Kumar, Backward Classes Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Chief Secretary P Ravikumar, Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner Vandita Sharma, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Manjunath Prasad and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
