Mangaluru: In a recent statement, the Catholic Diocese of Mangalore has formally disassociated itself from Mr. Robert Rosario, who has been falsely presenting himself as a Catholic leader and engaging in media discussions without official authorization.
According to the press release issued by the Diocese, Mr. Robert Rosario has been participating in various media debates, falsely claiming to represent the Catholic community without any official mandate from the diocesan authorities. The Diocese clarified that Mr. Rosario has neither been asked nor authorized by the official diocesan authorities to act as a spokesperson for the Catholic community.
The statement emphasized that while individuals have the right to express their opinions and beliefs, Mr. Robert Rosario’s assertions of leadership representing all Catholics are wholly false and misleading. The Diocese made it clear that Mr. Rosario is acting solely in an individual capacity and does not endorse his views or statements as reflective of the Catholic community at large.
The Diocese reminded the public and the media that only individuals duly appointed and recognized by the official diocesan authorities have the authority to speak on behalf of the Catholic community. Any representation to the contrary should be treated as misinformation and is not acceptable to the diocesan authorities.
The Diocese of Mangalore concluded the statement by urging the media and the public to refrain from attributing any statements or positions to Mr. Robert Rosario or any other individual as representatives of the Catholic community. The Diocese reiterated its commitment to promoting accurate information and ensuring that the faith and beliefs of its members are accurately represented by officially appointed spokespersons.
