Mangaluru: A group of six men allegedly attacked a duo travelling from Moodbidri from Mangaluru on Sunday, September 20.
The victims were identified as Vasu Acharya (32) and Ashok (30) – who were attacked with sharp weapons by assailants who came on three bikes.
The two attacked men were severely injured. They were stopped near Handelu in Puthige village and hammered hard causing head and hand injuries. The culprits then fled from the spot.
Reportedly, the duo had gone to attend a Ganeshotsava function as they are members of a band. They were returning home on Sunday morning when the incident took place.
The locals rushed the injured to a hospital in Mangaluru. Moodbidri police arrived at the spot and are investigating.
