Mangaluru: A loco pilot’s alertness here near Subrahmanya on Monaday October 25 averted a major rail mishap that would have happened on the Subrahmanya – Mangaluru railway line in Dakshina Kannada District.
It is reported that when the train reached Edamangala near Puttur in the district, the loco pilot noticed a crack on the track, and immediately stopped the train, thus averting a possible accident. Later, he informed the authorities about the incident.
On information, the crack in the track was repaired promptly. Post repair, the train was allowed to move onwards, informed sources from the railways.
