Mangaluru: After winning their first match of Mangalore Premier League 2016 on 19 December, Maestro Titans lost their game against Red Hawks Kudla on 21 December by a small difference. Maestro Titans lost the toss and batted first but they set a tough score to beat.
The first innings where Maestro Titans batted saw a consistent rise in score with a great average throughout the game. The second innings however where Red Hawks batted saw a slow start as they lost a couple of wickets mid game but took on the entire game to reach the score to beat with a very close margin.
A spectacular display from the batsmen in the first innings landed the team at a score of 173 for seven wickets in 20 overs. In a bid to chase the total score, it was at the last over with only four deliveries remaining that Red Hawks reached the goal of 175 with a concluding six.
Both the teams saw good team work with the bowling sides playing exceptionally well in both the teams. In the second innings when Maestro Titans were at the bowling end, Maestro Titans team skipper Akshay Ballal got two wickets back to back in the first and second deliveries.
Red Hawks Kudla player Sadiq N M won the ‘Man of the Match’ title for 77 run score in 33 balls. Red Hawks team skipper Rahul Kotian complimented Akshay Ballal and the other Titans in giving them a tough fight.
Meastro Titans will be playing their next match on Friday 23rd December at 10 am against Kankanady Knight Riders.
