Mangaluru: In a remarkable display of unity and devotion, the Holy Cross Church, Cordel, Mangaluru, is joining hands with 12 other churches from the city zone to organize the “Way of the Cross” (Kursachi Wat) event on March 25th at 4:30 pm.
Participating churches, including Cordel, Vamanjoor, Paldane, Bondel, Derebail, Neermarga, Kelarai, Bajjodi, Capitanio, Bajal, Permai, and Shaktinagar, will host this spiritually enriching event.
The event will feature artists from these churches performing the 14 Stations of the Cross within the church premises. Representatives from the 12 churches, along with esteemed priests and nuns from the region, will conduct the Stations of the Cross.
The proceedings will commence with Mass at 4:30 pm, followed by a sermon at the 12th Station, enhancing the spiritual experience for attendees.
The script for the event was unveiled by the chief priest of the Holy Cross Church, Fr Clifford Fernandes, during a preliminary meeting attended by notable figures such as assistant priest Fr Paul D’Souza, Diocesan PRO Roy Castellino, church vice president Ruth Castelino, secretary Anil D’Sa, All Commissions Moderator Dolphy D’Souza, and vice presidents of the 12 participating churches.
Directors Dennis Monteiro and Stany Alvarez will oversee the performances of the artists, with Vikas Kulakul portraying the role of Jesus Christ, Ashel D’Silva playing Mother Mary, and Alwyn Pais acting as Pilate.
This event serves as a powerful symbol of unity and devotion among the churches of Mangaluru, fostering spiritual growth and community solidarity.
