Mangaluru: The grandeur of Mangaluru Dasara was on full display as the colorful procession commenced from Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra. This iconic festival, which brings together the local community, began its jubilant journey at approximately 4 pm.
The Shobha Yatra
The esteemed B. Janardhana Poojary, former Union Minister and the visionary behind the Mangaluru Dasara celebrations, led the spirited shobha yatra. The procession featured the magnificent presence of Lord Ganesha, Adishakti, Navadurga, and Sharada Mata.
A Visual Extravaganza with Kerala Umbrellas and More
The grandeur of the Dasara procession was further enhanced by a visual spectacle featuring over 1,000 captivating Kerala umbrellas. More than 100 band sets, a troupe of around 40 folk dancers, Kerala chendevadana, horn trumpets, and over 60 tableaux, each depicting the rich history of the country, enriched the Dasara celebrations.
A 7-kilometer Journey to Culmination
The vibrant procession, spanning a distance of approximately 7 kilometers through the city, is set to conclude in the early hours of the following day. The idols of Ganapati, Adishakti, Sharada, and Navadurga will be ceremoniously immersed in the Kudroli Kshetra pushkarini. The Mangaluru Dasara procession attracted participants from across India and abroad, making it a truly international event.
