Mangaluru: Karnataka High Court stayed the defamation case filed by Dr. B S. Kakkilaya against the office-bearers of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Mangaluru.
Not only the single-judge bench of Justice M. Nagaprasanna accepted the IMA office-bearers’ plea but also issued a notice to Dr. Kakkillaya. The further proceedings is posted to August 26.
A case has been registered against Dr. Kakkilaya for breaking law after he was found without wearing a face mask in a supermarket. The IMA office-bearers too condemned doctor’s behaviour in media which prompted Dr. Kakkilaya to file a defamation lawsuit in the District Court.
