Mangaluru: “If Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai bravely speaks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the injustice being done to the State by the Centre and gives justice to the State, I will withdraw my puppy remark and give him the title of Raja Huli, said Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
“The amount being paid by the State to the Central Government through Corporate Tax, Duty, Petrol-Diesel Tax, GST is around Rs 3.5 Lakh Crore, while the return to the State is less than Rs. 50,000 Crore. Is there a guts to raise your voice against this injustice, asked Siddaramaiah to CM.
“The Manmohan Singh Government’s share in tax allocation in 2009 was Rs. 39,000 Crore, while last year State received Rs. 29,000 Crore. Why has the budget size increased, tax collections increased, ans the State’s share has come down, he questioned.
“Last year, the money from centrally sponsored schemes and GST compensation was Rs. 30,000 Crore, while this year the Centre has given Rs. 20,106 Crore. Why is the State’s share decreasing year after year,” he asked.
