Mangaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be visiting the coastal city for the first time after the announcement of the Lok Sabha election, will hold a roadshow instead of addressing a rally in the coastal city, according to BJP sources.
The city district BJP unit had identified Gold Finch Ground for the rally, but at the last moment, it was decided to hold a roadshow instead of a rally. The reason for the sudden change of plan is not known yet.
The BJP had performed a pooja to start erecting pandals for the rally at the ground. The city district unit of the BJP is likely to prepare a roadmap for the PM’s roadshow, and probably it would be an evening event.
The Karnataka BJP has shifted the venue of the mega public rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Devanahalli to the coastal city considering various factors. The PM will be holding a roadshow on the same day in the Bengaluru North constituency where he would seek votes for BJP candidate Shobha Karandalaje.
The BJP has fielded Brijesh Chowtha from Dakshina Kannada and Kota Srinivas Poojary from Udupi Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency. The party workers from these two Lok Sabha constituencies are participating in the roadshow. Both these segments will go for voting on April 26.
