utk innerMangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada District In-charge Minister U T Khader has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party should fulfil its electoral promises of 2014 at least during the second term of its administration.

Addressing the reporters at District Congress Office on Saturday, May 25, Khader said, “Though Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured of depositing Rs 15 Lakh in the bank account of each citizen during the election of 2014 none has received that amount so far. I hope Modi fulfils his promises at least in the second term. The price of the domestic gas also has gone high and it should be made available at a reasonable rate to the people. The skyrocketing oil price also should be contained and the value of Indian rupee against USA dollar must be increased. Measures should also be taken towards employment generation as most of the people are migrating to the other countries, searching for jobs.”

State government under no threat

Khader said that though the BJP leaders have been claiming that the coalition government would topple soon, it is far from the truth. “The people have given their mandate to the union government and it won’t affect the state government. There is no threat to the state government and coalition government will complete its five years term”, he added.

Give ministerial berth to MP Nalin

Khader opined that MP Nalin Kumar Kateel should be given ministerial berth in the Modi’s cabinet. “If he is given the Urban Development portfolio, it would be helpful for me as I am also serving as the state minister for Urban Development and Housing. My concern is the development of our district”, he said.

Meanwhile, Khader congratulated all the newly-elected MPs and offered to extend his cooperation for the sake of the people.

MLC and District Congress President Hareesh Kumar and other Congress leaders Mamatha Gatti, Mohammed Monu, Sadashiv Ullal, Ishwar Ullal, Santhosh Kumar, Nazeer Bajal and Bhaskar K among others were present.
