Paryaya Utsav: Govt releases Rs 1.54 cr for development works

Udupi: The State government has released Rs. 1.54 crore for various development works as the Paryaya festival is fast approaching.

Another MLA from coastal region gets parliamentary secretary post-1In a joint press release issued here on Tuesday, Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj and Udupi city Municipal Council Prsident P Yuvaraj said that of the Rs. 1.54 crore released by the State government, the connecting roads to the Sri Krishna Mutt/Temple would be asphalted at a cost of Rs. 58.41 lakh.

An amount of Rs. 41.25 lakh would be used for the underground drainage works in some areas of the city.

A sum of Rs. 54.50 lakh had been released for the patchwork of important roads in the city, the release added.

Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Pejawar Mutt will be ascending the Paryaya Peetha at the 800-year-old Sri Krishna Mutt/Temple for a historic fifth time here on January 18, 2016.
