Udupi: The State government has released Rs. 1.54 crore for various development works as the Paryaya festival is fast approaching.
In a joint press release issued here on Tuesday, Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj and Udupi city Municipal Council Prsident P Yuvaraj said that of the Rs. 1.54 crore released by the State government, the connecting roads to the Sri Krishna Mutt/Temple would be asphalted at a cost of Rs. 58.41 lakh.
An amount of Rs. 41.25 lakh would be used for the underground drainage works in some areas of the city.
A sum of Rs. 54.50 lakh had been released for the patchwork of important roads in the city, the release added.
