Udupi: The total number of arrested in the Praveen Poojary murder case raised to 21 after three more people were arrested by police on Saturday.
The arrested have been identified as Manjesh, Prateek, and Sudeep from Hebri. They were produced in the court after which were remanded to judicial custody till August 31.
Minister visits family
Former State Minister for Education Kimmane Ratnakar accompanied by former Karkala MLA, Gopal Bhandary and taluk panchayat member, Dr Suneetha D Shetty, visited the residence of Praveen Poojary and consoled the bereaved family. Ratnakar opined that justice should be done to the deceased’s family by undertaking a detailed investigation.

It may be recalled that BJP worker Praveen Poojary (28) along with his friend Akshay Devadiga (20) were said to be transporting two cows in Praveen’s tempo late on Wednesday night. Several activists of right-wing groups held-up the tempo and assaulted the duo with sharp weapons killing Praveen and injuring Akshay.
