Ballari: Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax Department officials on Friday searched properties allegedly owned by Karnataka Administrative Service officer Bheema Nayak in Hosapete and Hagaribommanahalli taluks in Ballari district.
Based on certain allegations made made in the death note of Ramesh KC, the driver of Bheema Nayak, two teams of officials comprising six officers searched the properties and inspected documents. The teams are searching in the taluks separately. They are also searching for the alleged benami properties.
Ramesh in his suicide note had alleged that Nayak had converted Rs 100 crore worth old denomination notes for BJP leader Janardhan Reddy, ahead of his daughters’ wedding. He had also mentioned details of wealth amassed by the official.
