Koppal: Rs 1.95 Lakh was seized from Kadiguppa Highway in Kushtagi Taluk, which was being transported without documents at a fixed checkpost set up as part of for Assembly elections. The cash has been seized.
At Kadiguppa highwzay crossing, the checkpost staff stopped the bus (KA-37F-0324) of the Hospet Unit of Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation and conducted an inspection. The amount was found in the possession of Srinivas Apparao, a resident of Srikakulam, a supervisor of SPC Infra Company, who was travelling in the bus.
As there was no record of the amount, the said person, including the cash, has been taken into custody and is being interrogated.
