Hassan: Shivalingegowda, MLA from Arasikere Assembly Constituency in Hassan District, said that he has left the JD (S) and joined the Congress with the support of the people of the Constituency.
He was speaking to mediapersons after submitting his resignation as JD (S) MLA to Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri in Sirsi of the District. “I am joining the Congress as per the decision of the people of my Constituency. The Congress ticket from Arasikere Constituency has already been finalised for me,” he said.
“The differences between senior leaders of the JD (S) Party and us are not being resolved. This is also the reason for resigning. It is true that Former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda and Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy tried to convince me, but the decision of the people is my decision,” he said.
