Cycle Agarbathies spreading Tiger awareness apart from Aroma with KSCA Tiger Cup

Mysuru: Strengthening its commitment towards sustainable development Cycle Pure Agarbathies, India’s largest and the only Certified Carbon Neutral Agarbathi manufacturer on Friday, announced its support for the upcoming edition of the KSCA Tiger Cup 2016 Cricket Tournament at the SJCE Ground, Mysuru. The KSCA Tiger cup leverages the love for cricket to bring about awareness and encourage sustained efforts to protect the precious tigers. The tournament will be an inter-school competition for under-16 category that will start from 2nd November and conclude on 23rd November, 2016. Recently, Cycle Pure Agarbathies strengthened their commitment of conserving the wildlife by donating Rs 1 Lakh to Pramod, a forest guard at Biligiriranganatha Swamy Temple Wildlife Sanctuary (BRT Tiger) Reserve. 

KSCA Tiger Cup tournament was conceptualised by former India batsman Sandeep Patil to help spread the word about wildlife conservation and inclusive sustainable development. The objective of the initiative is to encourage the youth to assist the government, largely including the participation of the forest department, to help conserve the forests and wildlife, especially the tiger. Apart from spreading awareness, the initiative recognises meritorious forest watchers and guards.

Speaking about the initiative, Pavan Ranga, Co-owner, Mysuru Warriors and Director, NR Group said, “In the nation where cricket is loved so much, what can be a better platform than this to grab people’s attention? This Tiger Cup is a part of our constant endeavour to educate the masses regarding the sustainable development of the society and ecosystem that we live in. It is an attempt by us to address the issue of tiger extinction and draw people’s attention towards it. Through this tournament we are aiming to fulfill two purposes, one of spreading awareness regarding tiger conservation and one to provide opportunity for upcoming cricket talents.” Sudhakar Rai, Chairman, KSCA, Mysuru Zone, Balachandar, Convenor, KSCA, Mysuru Zone and Joseph Hoover, experienced cricket journalist graced the occasion with their presence.

KSCA Tiger Cup Tournament was conducted in Bangalore in the month of April and May, where 103 matches were played at Global Academy of Technology, Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Loyola School Ground, Bannerghatta Road. In all, 56 teams had participated in the category of under-12, under -14 and under -17. The motive behind the tournament was again to spread awareness about the conservation of Tigers.
