Mysuru: ‘Visit Mysore’, a documentary to effectually promote Mysuru as a tourism destination on various digital platforms will be released on September 27, before the World Tourism Day. The documentary is being brought out by Safe Wheels Tours and Travels (SWTT) in association with Karnataka Tourism and Mysore Travel Agent Association.

The shooting for the five minute documentary which is set to feature around 35 tourist attractions in and around Mysuru began at the Palace premises today, September 16. The tourist attractions will include temples, monuments, palaces, museums, mosques and churches the concept of the documentary is said to have inspired from a short movie on Malaysia Tourism.

“With around 107 tourist spots, Mysuru holds its own identity as a tourist hub worldwide. Nowhere in the world can one find so many places at one district. That’s the reason the heritage city fascinates visitors in droves from across the globe,” opined former Karnataka minister S A Ramdas.

SWTT Managing Director Prashanth B S said, “It was sad to see there were no commercial ads and videos online to promote Mysuru as a tourism destination. Our repeated requests to the government seemed to have fallen on deaf ears. And that made us take the initiative”.

The documentary will feature very few artists and focus more on the visitors’ opinion. “We will interview foreigners and people visiting from other states. This will help us show what they think about Mysuru”, said Prashanth while briefing about the documentary concept.

He also added that documentary is produced by SWTT and ESS & ESS Infrastructures, Mysore, at a cost of 20-25 lakh. The documentary is directed by Ali Eelli of Studiofoveo and music is composed by Stephen Devassy.

Prashanth also urged upon the government to set aside a dedicated budget for the marketing of the city as the city has potentials to be one of the top tourist destinations.

Mysuru District Journalists’ Association’s General Secretary Lokesh Babu assured that the campaign to promote Mysuru as a tourism destination on digital platform would also get the support from media-fraternity.
