Mysuru: As long as there are people who get fooled, cheaters will thrive. This is a story of woman from Mysuru who lost her money to the fraudsters, online.
A person named Sathish Kalra had published an advertisement in an English newspaper. The advertisement by World Phone India Ltd offered to give Rs 95000 rent and Rs 90 Lakh in advance for a site to construct mobile towers. The advertisers had given a mobile number on which the woman C Anitha Rosy from J P Nagar contacted Sathish. He asked her to provide the land documents. He also promised her to give Rs 95,000 rent and Rs 90 Lakh advance. He asked her to deposit Rs 13000 in his account to facilitate the “completion of all the procedures” to hand over land for the construction of mobile tower.

She believed and deposited Rs 13,000 to the account of Chand Singh of Andhra Bank branch in Dehradun. She was also asked to deposit Rs 58, 200 as government tax.

Meanwhile, Anitha’s relative who was also interested in the offer enquired about the construction of mobile tower in her land. Satish told her that she can deposit the amount in three days. But Anitha grew suspicious when Satish gave a deadline and told her that it was the last date for depositing the said amount.

Anitha checked in the internet about the company background and came to know that no such company existed. Immediately she contacted Gurgaon DCP in Haryana and filed a complaint against the online fraud.
