Mysuru: The I-T raids which began this morning to unearth illegal wealth owned by State Energy Minister D K Shivakumar continued as the department sleuths raided the premises of his close relatives in Mysuru.
IT officials arrived in two cars and raided the residence of his in father-in- law Thimmaiah in Ittigegudu area of the city. They went around the house looking for clues and were seen inspecting documents when the reports last came in.
They also conducted raids on the residences of power minister’s relatives at 793, T K Layout and Dattagalli area of the city.
However, Thimmaiah expressed his resentment over IT officials barging into his premises.
IT officials conducted raids across 35 different locations to unearth “ill-gotten wealth” of Shivakumar. They have seized cash valued at Rs 11 Crore from the minister’s residence in Delhi and Bengaluru, it is gathered.
Minister D K Shivakumar, present at the Eagleton Resorts on the outskirts of the city when IT officials raided his residence is understood to have attempted to destroy vital documents according to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Officials succeeded in collecting the torn pieces of those documents, he added.
