Mysore, Apr 6: The media has been glorifying the rape incidents in a country that gives due respect to emotions, the Sandalwood movie director T N Sitaram expressed deep concern.
Addressing the women convention that was organized by women sub-Committee of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) Mysore division at Banni mantap of Catholic Centre here on Saturday April 6, Sitaram said that Swadeshi movement has to be embarked on to curb the evils of globalization. It’s owing to globalization effect since 1980, the peasants and women have stopped voicing their grievances. One is entangled in the evils of globalization unknowingly with craze for foreign goods, stressed Sitaram. ‘The undue pressures on children by the parents are driving their children to commit suicide that is also the impact of globalization,’ said Sitaram.
Sitaram also expressed deep concern over the media that carries advertisements to buy foreign products in India and are not bothered to motivate Indians to use indigenously grown rice in their diet.
