Mysuru: Students of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Residential School and Science Pre-University College at Tagadur Village in Nanjanagudu Taluk of the District staged a hunger strike demanding reinstatement of transferred Principal.

Angered by the Government’s transfer of Chandru, who was on the duty as Principal, the students gathered in front of the gate of the residential school and college without having breakfast and shouted slogans of defiance.

Jahnavi, a 2nd PUC student, said, “Chandru had come as the principal seven months ago. But suddenly he was transferred to another college. This has hurt us a lot. He laid great emphasis on the development of school as well as college and guided every child towards education. In the entire District Tagadur Atal Bihari Vajpayee Residential School and Science Pre-University College have been recognised and also performed well in results including sports and cultural activities. It is highly condemnable that he has been transferred during the examination,” she said.

The students insisted that the Principal should be sent back to our school otherwise we will not write exams, not go to classes, and not eat. His transfer during the exams is an injustice towarda the students, the students lamaented.

“Our fight will not stop till the Joint Director of the Social Welfare Department comes and takes required measure,” they said.
