Mysuru: The Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) has recovered property worth Rs. 50 Crore worth from encroachers on Friday April 8.

In a long operation, MUDA officers demolished illegal buildings and sheds constructed by encroachers in survey no 26/1B in Dattagalli near here. The MUDA acquired 2.01 acres of land bearing survey numbers 26/1B and 22/3 in Dattagalli in the year 1983-85 and even distributed compensation to landowners.

However, over 42 people forged paperwork claiming to be the original owner of 20 x 30 sites, built houses and sheds, and rented them out to others. Illegal tenants received two notices from the MUDA.

MUDA Commissioner Dr. D. B. Natesh and officers recovered property with tight police security.
