Mysuru: It is not right to say that I am the Chief Minister before the election results. The CM’s selection will not be held in Mysuru, Bengaluru or Kalaburagi said Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjuna Kharge.

Speaking to mediapersons at Mandakalli Airport on Saturday July 23 he said that the Party High Command will take the decision. He said that the High Command will decide who should be given the leadership based on the current political situation. Congress always moves forward under collective leadership. He said that the main objective of party is to bring back party to power first, he noted.

When asked about Kharge’s return to State politics, he said if media gives me a chance, I will come back. Let’s see if we all get a chance, he said.

Speaking about the inquiry on Party President Sonia Gandhi he said, “Those who have lost their families for this country will not do crores of rupees through irregularity. We will not shrink mentally after Gandhi family is called for questioning. We are the party that has been involved in freedom struggle, movement, and sacrifice. BJP cannot weaken us mentally,” he said and alleged that the BJP is doing such gimmicks to cover up the administrative failure.

Commenting on Yediyurappa’s retirement from electoral politics, Kharge said it was his personal decision. I didn’t talk about it. Everyone has the freedom to make their own decisions. No matter who we are, the country is there. Yediyurappa may think that if I am not there, others will come, he added.
