Mysuru: Primary Education Minister B. C. Nagesh said that no classes will be taken for any shawl, or hijab-clad students in any of the colleges of the State.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday February 7, he said that today those students who wore Hijab and Shawl in Kundapura in Udupi district were allowed to sit in a separate classroom. But no classes were taken. He said that Hijab-clad students should not be made to stand on road hence allowed to sit in class as it is not Pakistan. He said they they are all our children and politicians are misusing their innocence.
Further, Minister said that colleges are not providing any religious education and they should understand this. We will convince them, he asserted.
He said that we are awaiting the verdict of High Court which will be out on Tuesday February 8. He said that the students should remove Hijab in college premises, instead should stage protest to get entry into mosques and for their rights. Stating that in Kolar, the students were allowed to offer Namaz in the classroom. However, there will be no chance to do this again, he warned.
