Mysuru: The Mysuru district administration has decided to illuminate the Rajagopuram atop Chamundi Hill on all public holidays and important religious days. Until now it was the Mysuru palce which used to be illuminated during important days and the annual Dasara.
Deputy Commissioner D Randeep has taken this decision to make Chamundi Hill more attractive to public.
The 12th centure temple has originally been built by the Hoysala and its Rajagopuram is 40mtr high has been built using Dravidian style. The Rajagopuram has been rebuilt and renovated several times over the centuries. Every day thousands of devotees and tourist visit the temple.
