On Wednesday, May 22, a car and a fish truck collided head-on on National Highway 66 near Ambalpady.
According to sources, the fish truck, traveling towards Kerala, collided with a car coming from the opposite direction. The collision occurred when the truck driver attempted to avoid another vehicle that had entered the highway from the service road, causing the truck to lose control and cross the divider.
The occupants of the car sustained injuries and were immediately transported to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
Upon receiving the report, Udupi traffic police promptly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and ensure smooth traffic flow. Additionally, measures were taken to transfer the fish from the truck to another vehicle to prevent further disruption.
