Mangaluru: Dr. Krishna Mohan Prabhu of Prabhu’s Nursing Home, Moodabidri has passed away on Tuesday January 11. He was a great surgeon at KMC, Mangaluru.
He is survived by his wife Dr. Radhika Prabhu and daughter Neethi. Prabhu was not only a famous surgeon, but he was also a great photographer who used to teach amateur photographers. He was also a conservationist, a wildlife enthusiast, and one of the first to use the internet in Bengaluru using satellite phone connection when there was no internet connection by phones or cable.
As a nature enthusiast, he was a member of the Worldwide Fund for Nature and an active member of Wildlife First. He has worked in the game sanctuaries of Madumalai, Bandipur, and Nagarhole.
He had also bought a plot of land at Bisile alongside Ashok Vardhan of three book centres for the sole purpose of saving and nurturing wildlife, as well as building a small house for wildlife researchers to utilise during their stay in the forest.
He was a judge on life on streets contest conducted by NewsKarnataka. He also trained special kids in photography of Anirvedha, in a first in this region.
Prabhu was a charming man who has always been willing to assist anyone in need, whether it was a medical emergency or not.
He was also a blogger who used to blog about his photography and his camera work at remote places like Alaska and the Himalayas. He was a daily blogger and had tremendous insights into photography and the medical field too.
