Everyone welcomes the joy of being honored with the Bharath Ratna, but few work towards making themselves deserving, of which one is the BJP leader Lal Krishnana Advani, who, according to our Prime Minister, is the most respected statesmen of today. The PM further congratulated the leader, in what he describes as a rather emotional moment.

Having served as a member of both houses for about four decades, the minister has made significant contributions, being a part of various ministries, and even serving as the deputy Prime Minister, under the government of Atal Bihari Vajapayee.

Beginning at the grassroots in the 1970s, the minister went on to serve the government in various ways, going all the way up to becoming the deputy prime minister of our country, a home minister and and I&B minister.

While that is quite a lot, that is not all. There are also the various insight-filled parliamentary interventions that the minister has made.

All this is enough to say that the minister does deserve a place among the many who have received this most coveted award in our country till date. And as patriotic citizens of our country, we can’t help but feel glad for him receiving the highest honor that the nation, on recognizing his contributions, has to give.

His decade long service has gone a long way in serving as an example and an inspiration to the leaders in this time and age, and the PM hopes that this honor will bring about the same.

What’s more, the minister has also done a great deal in working towards the cultural and national unity of our country, which we have to agree that in a country like ours, is anything but easy.

It is for this reason that the prime minister states how he is not just happy to award him but also sees it as a privilege to receive an opportunity to interact with him.
