Three young Insta reel creators have found themselves in legal trouble following the viral of their Holi celebration reels. The Noida police have taken action by filing a First Information Report (FIR) against them and imposing a fine of Rs 80,500 on the owner of the scooter used in the stunts.

Identified as Preeti, Vineeta, and their collaborator Piyush, the trio’s Holi-themed reels gained the attention of netizens for their unconventional filming locations, including the streets and inside the Delhi metro. One video depicted Preeti and Vineeta riding pillion on a scooter with Piyush, sitting against each other in the backdrop of the song “Ang Laga De” from the movie “Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela.”

Another reel showcased Preeti performing stunts on a moving scooter, resulting in an accident as she fell off the vehicle. A third video, deemed “obscene” by netizens, portrayed the young women applying color to each other while seated on the floors of the Delhi metro, accompanied by the same song.

Hailing from Uttarakhand, Noida, and Delhi respectively, the creators admitted their mistake in a statement to Aaj Tak, expressing their inability to afford the hefty fine imposed by the Noida Traffic Police. Vineeta, the owner of the scooter used in the videos, appealed for leniency, citing financial constraints.

Acknowledging their error, the trio clarified that their intention was solely to create content, not to engage in reckless behaviour or cause harm to anyone. Vineeta emphasized that they never intended to offend anyone and apologized for their act.

Both Preeti and Vineeta shared their struggles with financial instability with the media and Preeti said that she lives in Delhi just to pursue her passion for content creation due to limitations within her family for pursuing education and job. Vineeta, who has been creating reels for over two years, has been balancing multiple jobs to support herself while nurturing her creative endeavors.

Piyush, who assists the duo in filming and occasionally appears in their videos, has completed his education up to Class 12 and earns Rs 6,000 to 7,000 doing odd jobs and content creation.

The trio remorse their act and assured that they would never do such reels in the future. Vineeta claimed that she received a call from the police, she would be jailed, if the fines remained unpaid.
