Kuala Lumpur: Esteemed members of the Indian community in Malaysia came together on Sunday to commend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “resolute and forward-thinking governance,” acknowledging the significant advancements made by India over the past decade under his leadership. They particularly praised his vision for an Indo-Pacific region characterized by freedom, openness, and inclusivity.
Addressing a Sadbhavana gathering titled ‘India’s Global Journey for Interfaith Harmony and Global Peace’ in Kuala Lumpur, distinguished figures from various fields such as academia, business, and community leadership credited India’s remarkable progress to its strides in technology and economic development during the Modi administration. This event, organized jointly by the Indian Minorities Foundation (IMF) and the NID Foundation, underscored the community’s support for India’s trajectory and commitment to PM Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.
Among the highlights of the event was the inauguration of a book titled ‘Igniting Collective Goodness: Mann Ki Baat@100,’ chronicling PM Modi’s dialogues with India since 2014. Additionally, a ‘Malaysia Resolution’ was passed, affirming the community’s backing for India’s growth and development.
Rajya Sabha MP and IMF convener Satnam Singh Sandhu presided over the gathering, which was graced by dignitaries including India’s Deputy High Commissioner to Kuala Lumpur, Subashini Narayanan, and NID founder Himani Sood.
Participants lauded PM Modi’s accomplishments, including the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and his efforts to reconnect youth with India’s cultural heritage. They expressed pride in aligning with PM Modi’s leadership, citing India’s rise as a source of confidence and empowerment for non-resident Indians and persons of Indian origin worldwide.
