New Delhi: Actress Sakshi Sharma is stepping into the role of Payal in the romantic drama ‘Suhaagan’, taking over from Anshula Dhawan.
The show ‘Suhaagan’ underwent significant changes as it jumped 10 years, following the lives of sisters Bindiya and Payal. Sakshi Sharma joins the cast as Payal, a character filled with manipulation and resentment towards her sister Bindiya.
Expressing her excitement, Sakshi said, “I’m thrilled to work with Colors again in the popular show ‘Suhaagan’. Playing Payal, a character with twists and challenges, intrigued me. This is my first time in a lead role, and I’m eager to portray a manipulative character who despises her sister for taking her love interest.”
She added, “I hope the audience embraces my portrayal of Payal and supports the show warmly.”
In the ongoing plot, Bindiya’s wedding to Krishna, her sister’s former love interest, unfolds amidst various twists. Amid heavy rainfall, Krishna and Bindiya’s car breaks down, leading them to spend the night at Bindiya’s house. However, their romantic moment is interrupted when Payal pretends to be sick upon her unexpected arrival.
Tensions escalate the next day as Payal claims her spot next to Krishna in the car, causing Bindiya to assert her ownership of the seat.
‘Suhaagan’ airs on Colors and features Sakshi Sharma, known for her roles in series such as ‘Gud Se Meetha Ishq’, ‘Ishq Mein Marjawan’, and ‘Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya’.
