Mangaluru: As a part of Swachha Bharat Abhiyan special campaign 3.0, National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) in association with Rotary Club of Surathkal, Surathkal Nagarikra Salaha Samiti, Lions Club Surathkal and Hermitech Pvt.Ltd, conducted a Swachhta awareness jatha today, October 2, 2023, in Surathkal City at 9 a.m. The event aimed at spreading the message of cleanliness among the citizens and shop owners of the city.
The Swachhata jatha was attended by about 450 people, including NITK NCC, NSS, staff, faculty, housekeeping staff local NGO members and other organizations. The participants distributed Swachhta appeal pamphlets to the public and urged them to keep their surroundings clean and garbage-free.
They carried placards and banners with slogans such as “Clean India, Green India”, “Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat” and “Let’s join hands for Garbage Free India”.
The event was graced by the presence of Prof. A.C.Hegde, Director in-charge and Dean of Student Welfare of NITK, Registrar of NITK, Joint Registrar, Rammohan, NITK Staff and students, President of Rotary Club of Surathkal, President of Surathkal Nagarika Salaha Samiti and Director of Hermitech Pvt.Ltd and President of Lions Club Surathkal.
