The Bharatiya Janata Party announced on Saturday the formation of a committee to prepare an election manifesto for the upcoming general election. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh shouldered the responsibility of the committee.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Railways Minister Piyush Goyal have been assigned convener and co-convener roles, respectively, in the panel of 27 members.
The panel has big names, including Union Minister Smriti Irani, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Arjun Munda, Vasundhara Raje, Shivaraj Singh, Dharmendra Pradhan, Kiren Rijiju, and others.
The BJP had launched the Sankalp Patra campaign and sought suggestions from the public in order to prepare its manifesto, promising implementation if it returned to power for the third straight time.
The Opposition Congress has already made some promises in terms of Nyay Ki Gurantee for women, for the working community, for youth, and for farmers, just like guarantees the grand-old party announced just before the Assembly election in Karnataka and Telangana.
