Dharawad: Assembly Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar should not stick to one constituency. They should work towards strengthening the party across the State, said Former Minister Santhosh Lad.

Speaking to mediapersons, Lad said, “Let Siddaramaiah work towards strengthening the party. He should not contest in one constituency and be confined there. It is good that he does not plan to stick one constituency as he needs to tour the entire State. This is my personal opinion, he added.

D. K. Shivakumar should also not contest from one constituency. Let the two leaders tour the State and campaign. In a democratic country, we can run the Government without contesting elections,” he said.

Siddaramaiah did not tell me to go to Ballari. Nagaraj Chabbi is my friend and he himself went to Siddaramaiah and asked him to send Santosh Lad to Ballari. Siddaramaiah has told me what he said. But I will not leave the Kalaghatagi Constituency and go anywhere.

Nagaraj Chhabbi searches for one Constituency in every election. Now they are coming to Kalaghatagi and distributing cookers. Since 2008, I have won the Kalaghatagi seat of the Congress. There is confusion over tickets. It would be better if the party leaders resolved the issue now, he said.
