Bengaluru: Autorickshaw drivers will organise a protest against the city’s illegal bike taxi services on July 21.

Raghu Narayana Gowda of the Peace Auto and Taxi Drivers Association claimed in a statement that the Transport Commissioner had failed to enforce the Bike Taxi Rules, allowing all private vehicles with white number plates to operate as taxis.

It further stated, “As per the policy, only electric vehicles with the necessary licences can be used to provide taxi services. However, the Transport Department has failed to enforce it despite repeated requests,” he said. It also added that all autorickshaw drivers in the city will join the protest.
