Kolar: As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to give one votibg right to one person in the country, the process of linking voter ID cards to Aadhaar cards is being successfully carried out in the District and 79 percentage of linking has been completed, said Deputy Commissioner Dr. Venkat Raja.

He was speaking after inaugurating a programme to visit the Taluk Office in the town every Tuesday November 29 and receive representations from the public and provide relief. He said that all BLOs have been instructed to work properly with municipal official staff immediately all over the District and a low percentage of linkage is being done within the Town limits.

“At present, a large number of people come from villages and live in the towns. There are cases of such persons voting on both sides, which are against the law and since the law of one vote for one person for one election has been enacted, the scheme is being properly managed with the aim of preventing illegal voting if Aadhaar card is linked, he said.
