Bengaluru: Slowly and steadily former BJP minister and beleaguered mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy who was imprisoned for three and half years for his alleged involvement in the iron ore mining scam is all set for his re-entry into political arena through the back door following Assembly elections.
Reports say that following high command directions, Reddy has already held a secret meeting with over 300 party men at a farmhouse in Bengaluru regarding various strategies to defeat the ruling Congress in the assembly polls which are due in two months.
It is learnt that his friends and followers have been pressurising him to get back into politics. But Reddy reportedly told them that he would consider their offer only after BJP high command gives the green signal.
It is surprising that though the party leaders from the state and at the national level have not spoken anything about Reddy’s re-entry into politics, the latter is busy preparing for the upcoming assembly elections.
Reddy was tourism minister in the Yeddyurappa government and had to resign after then Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde came out with a mining report indicting him.
