Supreme Court orders Probe on Illegal Mining

Bangalore: Supreme Court (SC) issued order to CBI in order to probe the affairs of 18 mining companies including the partnership firm of state basic and information minister Santosh Lad and submits report within 5 months.

The copies of SC order has been forwarded the state chief secretary and CBI, that has taken up the case.

No sooner SC issued orders in this regard, the opposition parties are mounting pressure on state administration demanding resignation of minister Santosh Lad, while CM Siddaramaih who was supporting minister Santosh is worried over the latest development.  When viewing these developments, minister Santosh has no choice other than resign.

CBI has taken into custody 3 MLAs related to Belekeri mining scam.  The petition of Anand Singh seeking anticipatory bail will come up for hearing shortly for CBI to take further action in this regard.
