Mangaluru: The centenary year of Stigmata, the 50th death anniversary and the annual feast of St. Padre Pio was celebrated with pomp and gaiety at the St. Anne’s Friary, Bejai here on 23 September 2018.
Bishop of Mangalore Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha was the main celebrant of the festal mass. Priests, nuns and hundreds of devotees participated in the high mass.
The newly ordained Bishop of Mangalore Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha was felicitated by Fr Peter D’Souza and Fr Paul Melvin D’Souza on behalf of the Capuchin Friars of Mangalore.
A book on legal information — ‘Kanoonache Vater’ authored by advocate Fr Jochim D’Souza and a CD of Konkani Hyms ‘Gaytha Athmik Thalo, Amar Jivith’ by Fr Dolphy Serrao was released by the bishop on the occasion.
Fr. Derick D’Souza compered the programme and Fr Paul Melvin D’Souza rendered the vote of thanks.
