Mangaluru: A distressing scene unfolded near Kujumagadde of Kumpala as authorities made a grim discovery of a decomposed body inside a residence. Suspected to be a case of suicide, the individual’s remains were found in an advanced state of decomposition, indicating an estimated three days since the tragic event occurred. The incident has spurred the initiation of a case at the Ullal police station.

The deceased has been identified as Kiran Kumar (48), employed in the housekeeping department of a private hospital in Deralakatte. Kiran had last entered the house on March 7 and had not been spotted outside since.

Concerned locals alerted the Ullal police about an unpleasant odour emanating from Kiran’s residence on Sunday. Upon investigation, with the assistance of Deepak Pilar, a member of the Someshwara municipality, authorities discovered Kiran’s severely decomposed body in a hanging position.

Subsequently, the police have arranged for the body to undergo a post-mortem examination.
