Mangaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Vice-President Ivan D’Souza has demanded immediate resignation of Higher Education Minister Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan from his ministerial post in the wake of his provocative remarks against Siddaramaiah.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday Feburary 17, he said that a complaint has been lodged against Ashwath Narayan under Section 352 of the Indian Penal Code with the Police Commissioner. The Police should volunteerily register case against Minister for making such a provocative statement. Ivan also demanded the Governor’s intervention in the case.
“Congress will continue its protest till Minister Dr. Ashwath Narayan resigns from the ministerial post and till he is arrested by the Police,” he added.
“Ashwath Narayan, who has been creating hatred among the people about Tipu, will he make same statement against Jagadish Shettar, who released the book on Tipu and Yediyurappa, who posed in Tipu-like costume,” Ivan questioned.
Congress Leaders Kodijal Ibrahim, Appi, Prakash Salian, Bhaskar Rao, Sabitha Mismit, Muthappa, Meena Tellis, Saleem, Alippan and others were present.
