Mangaluru: In violence-hit Mangaluru, the curfew has been withdrawn from 6 AM to 5 PM. The curfew will be lifted in total from Monday 6 AM and section 144 of the CrPC will be in place. Mobile internet services were restored in the city at 10 PM last night. The city seems to be returning to normalcy with shops and other establishments opening, vehicles and buses plying and people going about their lives.

JD(S) leader and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy will be visiting the city today. He will be meeting with the family members of the protesters who were killed in police firing on Thursday.

Congress leader and former chief minister Siddaramaiah will be visiting the city tomorrow and will arrive at around 12 PM. It can be recalled that Mangaluru Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha had issued Siddaramaiah a notice barring him from entering the city till the curfew is lifted.
