In Talapady, a heart-wrenching incident unfolded as Rajesh Shetty (49), a resident near the old bus stand, met with a fatal accident. Rajesh, who owned a nearby bakery, was struck by a motorcycle traveling on the wrong side of the road while he was waiting to cross the highway after lunch. The collision, occurring at high speed, flung Rajesh onto the road, causing severe head injuries. Despite immediate efforts to rush him to a private hospital, Rajesh tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Rajesh leaves behind his wife and two daughters. His elder daughter is currently pursuing a degree, while the younger one is preparing for the upcoming SSLC examinations scheduled for March 25.
An esteemed member of the community, Rajesh actively contributed as the vice president of Talapady Veeranjaneya Vyayama Shale and was deeply involved in the Bunts’ association.
In connection with the accident, the south traffic police have detained bike rider Mohammed Sohail and have initiated legal proceedings against him.
