Yogish Bhat from Mangalore South, VSA son likely from Udupi

Mangalore : The BJP has decided to field sitting MLA from Mangalore South Yogish Bhat once again in the upcoming Assembly elections. Earlier, there were rumours that Bhat may be replaced by Srikar Prabhu this time. However, as per information available as of now, Bhat is likely to contest again.

Sitting MLA from Mangalore north and former minister Krishna Palemar will be the party candidate even this time. As far as Mangalore constituency is concerned, the BJP is yet to finalise its candidate though the name of Chandrahas Uchil is doing the rounds.

In Bantwal Rajesh Naik will be the contender against Congress heavyweight Ramanatha Rai. The party is also likely to field Sanjeeva Matandoor from Puttur while S Angara, sitting MLA from Sullia is likely to get another chance.

In Belthangady, the BJP may field Ranjan Gowda against Vasanth Bangera of the Congress.

As far as Udupi is concerned,  the name of Kiran Acharya, son of late minister VS Acharya is doing the rounds in the wake of the present MLA Raghupathi Bhat caught in a sleaze video case.

In Kaup, the Party will be fielding Lalaji Mendon, while in Karkala, former MLA Sunil Kumar stands a chance this time. The party candidate from Kundapur and Byndoor is not yet confirmed.
