Ballari: Three hostel students were killed when a bus ran over them on National Highway near a poultry farm in Halakundi Village of the Taluk late on the night of Sunday December 18.
The deceased have been identified as Shankar (18), a resident of Murudi, Kanakaraj (19) of Emmiganur and Honnura (22) of Naganahalli. Three persons were killed on the spot when the bus, which was on its way from Bengaluru to Jewargi, ran over the youth who were crossing the road. A case has been registered at the Rural Police Station in this regard.
There are several doubts about the presence of students there in the middle of the night without a vehicle. It is also said that they had left the hostel for the last two days. This needs to be ascertained from the police investigation.
