Bidar: JD (S) Candidate C. M. Faiz has alleged that MLA Rajashekar Patil had lured women by offering them cookers to garner votes with an eye on the elections.
It is alleged that on March 5, thousands of men and women had gathered at the MLA’s son’s birthday celebrations to recieve gifts at Rajarajeshwari ground on the outskirts of the Town. At the same time, there was a stampede for a gift and two people were killed in a stampede.
He questioned, “Has permission been obtained to organise the event? What steps were taken for the safety of women.? Are they cookers with ISI mark? Which company is it?, he asked.
“Two women were injured and who would pay for their hospital expenses, questioned.
If there was so much love for people, they should have delivered a cooker to their home. If the MLAs are concerned about the farmers, they should get a loan waiver of Rs. 1 lakh from the District Central Cooperative Bank (DCC) bank,” he said.
He demanded that there should be an inquiry into whether it was to be distributed as a whole.
On this occasion, the leader A. M. Kulkarni, Shivaraja Huli, Babu Bukhari and Shivaputra were present.
