Bidar: Renowned Urdu poet Tariq Farooq (78), a Canadian citizen originally from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, passed away due to a heart attack on Sunday.
He had come to Bidar on Saturday to participate in a Mushaira and Kavi sammelan organized by a technocrat and literary enthusiasts association at the auditorium in Theru Maidan. Despite being admitted to a local hospital, Tariq Farooq could not survive.
