Raichur: The Kuruba Community is confident of getting ST reservation soon, said Minister Byrathi Basavaraj said there were some legal hurdles and the Government would take an appropriate decision.
Speaking to mediapersons in the City on Saturday October 29 he said, “Our Government has increased the reservation for SCs and STs. Why didn’t the previous Government do it despite the demand for so many years? Time must come for everything, he noted.
“A ethnographic study of the Kuruba Samaja has been conducted and a high-level committee is examining the data. Only after all the issues have been resolved, we will have to officially talk about ST reservation,” he said.
