Mandya: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Minister of State for Fisheries, Youth Services and Sports Pramod Madhwaraj on Sunday distributed license to 500 fishermen on Krishnaraja dam limits here in Mandya on October 29.
Addressing a huge state-level convention of fishermen at Government university premises, Madhwaraj said, “the dreams of fishermen from the last 40 years has come true, as they have recived licenses today. “
The capitalists had blocked the way and had prevented local fishermen from obtaining license. We have permitted total 18 lakh fingerlings to be released and have already released 8.5 lakh fingerlings into Krishnaraja Sagar dam, he added.
